Birmingham already in an electrified state as the 2023 Magic City Classic draws near turned up even further as rap sensation TI graced the city with his presence for the premiere of his highly-anticipated movie, ‘da “Partments.’ This red-carpet event drew fans and TI in tow with castmates and the likes of fellow musical artists such as wife, Tiny and friend Young Dro. It’s safe to say that TI’s journey into the world of cinema is quite an exemplary one.
In 2010, T.I. starred and produced the crime action thriller film “Takers”. Directed by John Luessenhop, it was TI’s first role as film producer.
His second film and the reason why we gathered at the Lakeshore Birmingham Premiere LUX Cine for a brief Q&A and premiere of “DA’PARTMENTS”. Set in modern-day Atlanta and inspired by true events, DA’PARTMENTS “explores the fine line between the everyday struggles of the underprivileged and the enchantment hidden within an apartment complex.”
Earlier this year, the Atlanta native excited fans with the announcement of his latest venture via Instagram, writing, “The wait is almost over!!!! Get Ready for Uncensored Unhinged Unapologetic Hood humor at its finest…”
