This past Saturday evening (03/11) brought out all the nostalgic feelings as hundreds stood in line at the BJCC’s Legacy Arena to vibe to the sounds of R&B greats on the Birmingham stop of the Legacy Tour.
Tank hits the stage first, crooning classics and dazzling the audience with amazing vocals and an equally fit physique. “When We”, “Please Don’t Go” and “Fuckin’ wit Me” were some of his chart toppers that he sang for us even bringing out J. Valentine as a special guest on the newly released, “Slow”.
Second to the stage was the trio, Guy. The innovators of the New Jack Swing style featuring keyboardist, Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall, and his brother, Damian Hall leading us through a very upbeat set with songs such as “I Like,” “Groove Me” and “Piece of My Love”.
Kieth Sweat enters the stage with a mature and sexy swag, smoke effects, a glass of Henny and trench coat rousing the crowd to their feet with hits like, “Don’t Stop Your Love”, “Nobody”, and “Make It Last Forever”
After a brief intermission, the crowd roars with excitement, love, and anticipation as the entirety of New Edition rises from the stage floor. Donned in trench coats and brims, Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill are finally here together. We celebrate them on this Legacy Tour and 40 years in the entertainment industry. Salute to New Edition!
